Learn more about IRGA
For more than 80 years investing in technology and human resources
The perseverance and pioneering of Lupércio Torres, son of Italian immigrants, have transformed the small company São José Transportes into the giant Irga Lupércio Torres, Latin America’s current leader in road transport of super heavy and oversized cargo.
Founded in 1938, after the purchase of a small truck in the state of São Paulo’s inlands, Irga has been investing in technology and human resources for over 80 years, participating in projects for the construction of steel mills, petrochemical complexes, oil exploration and refining, industrial plants, and nuclear, hydroelectric, wind and thermoelectric power plants, besides many other projects that were fundamental to the development and success of large national economic groups.
Our first truck
The commitment of Irga Lupércio Torres S.A. in Brazil began in the middle of 1938, when Lupércio Torres, son of Italian immigrants, acquired a small truck and founded, in São José do Rio Pardo, in São Paulo’s inlands, a company specialized in part load transport called Expresso São José. It was the first step in a long and successful path marked by work, pioneering, forward thinking and entrepreneurial spirit.
